middle Georgia and has 374 miles of shoreline.  Lake Oconee is owned and operated by Georgia Power and was built for strictly recreational purposes.  It is not a water shed lake for any city or industry, and is a clean lake that provides some of the best fishing in the whole southeast.

 

Lake Oconee has proven to be one of the highest ranked golf course destinations in the world because of the 10 plus championship courses in the area.   All of the golf courses located are within a 20 minute drive of each other, offering the full time golfer or weekend enthusiast a perfect place to live and play.  

 

Also located just below the Wallace Dam is Lake Sinclair; a sister lake to Oconee.  Lake Sinclair is a 14,000 acre lake which is approximately 90 years old and is located mainly in Putnam and Baldwin counties.  Georgia Power is also the owner/developer of Lake Sinclair and it also provides the avid boaters and fishermen a great place to get away and enjoy our beautiful lake country area.  Located within a short driving distance to Milledgeville, GA which was at one time the capital of Georgia.
